Original designs, created for the project in front of you.

The most compelling spaces, products, and collections are not assembled from the same limited choices everyone else has access to. They begin with a custom idea.

Christi Tasker creates original designs for clients who need something that has not already been made: a custom rug, tile collection, mosaic, wall or floor surface, furnishing, fashion element, product concept, feature installation, or a complete design story for a space or experience.

Based in Miami, Christi works with architects, interior designers, developers, manufacturers, fashion designers, event planners, and private clients to develop custom concepts that are specific to the project, the brand, and the people it is intended to serve.

Designed From the Ground Up

Custom design is not about forcing a signature look onto every project. It is about listening closely, identifying the opportunity, and developing a concept that belongs nowhere else.

Christi can create custom designs for:

  • Custom rugs and carpet concepts
  • Tile, mosaics, and decorative wall or floor surfaces
  • Wallcoverings, textiles, patterns, and prints
  • Furniture, lighting, accessories, and decorative objects
  • Architectural details and feature installations
  • Hospitality, residential, retail, and event environments
  • Fashion concepts, prints, embellishments, and accessories
  • Product collections for manufacturers and design brands
  • Licensed original designs and special collaborations

Each assignment is developed around the project’s aesthetic direction, functional needs, budget, production considerations, and desired level of originality.

The Custom Design Process

1. Start With a Conversation

Every custom project begins with a conversation.

Christi takes time to understand the project, its purpose, the people involved, the desired atmosphere or customer experience, the architectural or brand context, the timeline, and the practical requirements. Clients may bring plans, photographs, inspiration, existing product samples, brand materials, a problem to solve, or simply the beginning of an idea.

This initial exchange establishes the creative brief and clarifies what needs to be designed.

2. Christi Goes to the Drawing Table

With the project direction in place, Christi begins the creative work: imagining possibilities, exploring materials and forms, developing color and pattern stories, and considering the details that can make the finished design distinctive.

This is where a concept evolves from an early thought into a tangible visual direction. Depending on the assignment, the work may involve sketches, material studies, product ideation, spatial concepts, surface patterns, or a full creative narrative for the project.

3. Concepts Are Presented Visually

Christi presents original concepts in a tailored design presentation so clients can see the possibilities before committing to production, fabrication, or installation.

Presentations may include:

  • Realistic 3-D renderings
  • Original sketches and concept illustrations
  • Mood boards and visual references
  • Color, finish, material, and pattern palettes
  • Product, furniture, surface, fashion, or spatial design concepts
  • Design options for review and refinement
  • Suggested applications, placements, and scale within the intended environment

The level of detail is tailored to what each client needs to make informed decisions and move the project forward confidently.

4. Expand the Vision When the Project Calls for It

For larger spaces, environments, and experiential projects, the concept can be developed beyond static imagery.

Depending on the scope, selected concepts may transition into a more complete visualization package, including an animated video walkthrough that brings the project to life. This can help clients, investors, stakeholders, manufacturers, or event teams understand the scale, flow, materials, and overall experience before construction, production, or installation begins.

A video walkthrough is available when it will add real value to the project—not as a one-size-fits-all deliverable.

5. Refine, Produce, or License the Design

After a concept is selected, Christi can continue working with the client and the appropriate fabricators, manufacturers, architects, designers, or production partners to refine the design for its next phase.

That may include design revisions, production-ready direction, material selection support, manufacturer collaboration, or licensing discussions for original designs. The exact scope is established for each project.

A Custom Design Should Feel Inevitable

The strongest custom work feels as though it could not have been designed any other way. It belongs to the space, the product, the collection, or the event because it was created with that purpose in mind.

Whether you need one unforgettable surface, a custom product concept, a fashion-forward collaboration, or a complete visual direction for an environment, Christi Tasker Designs can help transform the initial idea into a vivid, original design.
